Sizing

Common left chest logo sizes

Polo or dress shirt3–3.5 in (75–90 mm) wide
Jacket or fleece3.5–4 in (90–100 mm) wide
Scrubs or kids' sizes2.5–3 in (65–75 mm) wide
Maximum heightAbout 2.5–3 in (65–75 mm)

Tips for the best result

  • Simplify long taglines. Text under about 5 mm tall at 3.5 inches wide won't read in thread.
  • Place the logo about 7–9 inches below the shoulder seam, centered between the placket and the side seam.
  • Use cut-away stabilizer on knit polos so the logo doesn't stretch out of shape.

FAQ

Left chest logo to embroidery questions

The quickest way to see what it does with your artwork is to try it. With a free account, digitizing and previewing cost nothing and take about a minute.

What size is a left chest logo?

Usually 3 to 4 inches wide, with 3.5 inches the most common for adult polos. Heights rarely go above 3 inches.

Where is a left chest logo placed?

On the wearer's left side, roughly 7 to 9 inches down from the shoulder seam and centered between the center front and the side seam. Adjust for smaller sizes.

What file format do embroidery shops need?

Most shops ask for DST because commercial machines read it. Send the color sheet with it, since DST doesn't store thread colors.

How much does Embrizo cost?

Digitizing is free. With a free Embrizo account you can upload an image, digitize it, change every setting, watch the stitch preview and sew-out, run the design check and save a PNG preview. Downloading embroidery files such as DST, PES or JEF needs a paid plan: Hobby ($20 a month, 20 design downloads), Shop ($50 a month, 100) or Pro ($100 a month, unlimited). Billed annually, plans start at $8 a month. A design counts once per month however many formats you download, and you can cancel anytime. The pricing page has the details.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Your image is processed entirely on your own device in your web browser and is never uploaded. When you download, only the finished stitch data is sent to create your file. If you save a design, only the finished stitch file, a small preview and its thread colors are stored in your account, never the original image.
