When a human digitizer is still worth it
Automatic digitizing handles most logos, lettering and patches. A few jobs still deserve a specialist.
Photo-realistic portraits
Thread painting with blended shades needs a human digitizer's hand.
3D puff, sequins and appliqué
Specialty techniques need custom underlay and stops that are planned by hand.
Tiny text on structured caps
Lettering under about 5 mm tall on curved fronts benefits from manual tuning.

Digitizing service questions
The quickest way to see what it does with your artwork is to try it. With a free account, digitizing and previewing cost nothing and take about a minute.
How is this different from a digitizing service?
A digitizing service has a person build each file by hand and send it back, usually in one to three business days and for a fee per design. Embrizo digitizes automatically in your browser, so you get the file in seconds, can change it as often as you like, and pay one monthly or yearly price for a set number of designs.
How much does embroidery digitizing cost?
Digitizing services typically charge about $10 to $50 or more per design, depending on size and stitch count. With Embrizo, plans start at $8 a month billed yearly for 20 designs a month, which works out to about $0.40 a design.
What kind of artwork works best?
Logos, lettering, icons, clip art, cartoons, patches and bold drawings with clear shapes and flat colors. Photos and very fine detail should be simplified first. The free embroidery image checker tells you how well an image will stitch before you start.
Will the file work on my machine?
Yes. Files are written to each format's specification and checked against independent readers: PES and PEC for Brother and Baby Lock, JEF for Janome, DST for Tajima and most commercial machines, EXP for Bernina and Melco, VP3 for Husqvarna Viking and Pfaff, XXX for Singer, plus U01 and TBF.
Can I edit the design after it's digitized?
Yes, as often as you need. Change the size, fabric, thread colors, stitch types and density, merge or remove colors, rotate or mirror the design, and download the new version. Each new design you download counts once toward your monthly downloads.
When should I still use a professional digitizer?
For photo-realistic thread painting, 3D puff, sequins, appliqué and other specialty techniques, or very small text on structured caps. For logos, lettering, patches and clip art, Embrizo gives you a ready file in seconds.
