What is sewing order (sequencing) in embroidery?

The order in which a design's shapes and colors are stitched, which affects trims, color changes, registration and how flat it sews.

Sewing order (sequencing), explained

Common rules are background before foreground, fills before the satin borders and details that cover their edges, and finishing one area before moving to the next. Embrizo plans the sewing order to cut down trims, sewing fills first and satin details over them. Caps have their own rules, center out and bottom up, and that kind of cap-specific sequencing is a specialist job.
