Multi-needle machine, explained
Multi-needle machines commonly have 4 to 15 needles, a larger sewing field, a free arm for sleeves and bags and cap frames, which is why shops often move to one once orders are steady. Most read DST, and many also take their maker's own format, such as U01 on Barudan or TBF on some newer Tajima models. With a DST file, you set each needle's color at the machine from the color sheet.
