What is pull compensation in embroidery?

Extra width added to shapes so they sew at the drawn size, because each stitch pulls the fabric in along its direction.

Pull compensation, explained

Without it, satin columns come out narrower than drawn and outlines miss the fills next to them. Typical values are a few tenths of a millimeter per side, more on stretchy or lofty fabrics. Embrizo adds 0.2 mm per side for wovens, more with the knit, stretch and fleece presets and less on leather; the logo digitizing guide shows the presets.

Pull compensation, drawn as thread. Real stitches are around 0.4 mm apart.
