Questions

The quickest way to see what it does with your artwork is to try it. With a free account, digitizing and previewing cost nothing and take about a minute.

What materials can you machine embroider?

Almost any material a needle can pass through: cotton, linen, denim, canvas, knits, fleece, polyester, nylon, silk, satin, velvet, leather, faux leather, suede, felt, cork, tulle and even paper. The setup changes: needle, stabilizer, topping, density and hooping.

What can't you embroider?

Things a needle can't pierce or the hoop can't hold flat: wood, hard plastic, glass and most finished shoes or thick bags on home machines. Very fragile fabrics need wash-away stabilizer and light designs.

Which materials are easiest?

Stable wovens: canvas, denim, linen, cotton and felt. Knits, fleece and towels come next; silk, velvet, leather and stretch fabrics need the most care.
