What is gang hooping in embroidery?

Stitching several items, or several copies of one design, in a single hooping, such as a sheet of patches or labels, or small pieces floated side by side.

Stabilizers and hooping

Gang hooping, explained

Gang hooping saves hooping time and, on a single-needle machine, thread changes, because each color can be sewn on every copy before the next. Leave a gap between copies so they can be cut apart, typically about 6–10 mm for labels and more around patches that get a border after cutting. Embrizo's hoop layout tool fills a hoop with copies of one design, sewn color by color, and the multiple items guide covers the hooping.
